The driving license for category B allows driving light vehicles (motor vehicles with a gross weight not exceeding 3,500 kg, and not more than nine places, including the driver, that can be combined with a trailer with maximum weight up to 750 kg or, being higher, provided that the maximum weight of the assembly does not exceed 3,500 kg.

Process to obtaining light cars driving license:
ENROLLMENT
The driving student may apply to start training 6 months before completing the minimum age required for the respective driving license category.
Enrollment is processed through a written contract between the driving student and the company operating the driving school.
The written contract must clearly state:
Description of the training to be provided, including minimum number of theoretical training hours and minimum number of hours and kilometers to be covered in practical training.
Description of all the amounts to be charged for the driving instruction service hired, according to the price list.
Identification of the exam centers where the driving school may propose candidates for theoretical and driving exam.
Transfer conditions of the driving student.
The driving school cannot charge any item or amount not initially specified in the contract.
THEORETICAL TRAINING
The theoretical training for the first (initial) driving license qualification begins with attendance of a common Road Safety Module with a total duration of 7 hours, with compulsory attendance in person and sequentially in a driving school.
After successfully attending this module, the student must attend a Driving Theory Module (The Highway Code) with a total duration of 16 hours.
In case of the theoretical exam failure, the candidate must attend at least 5 more hours of the Driving Theory Module and repply for the exam.
Secondary driving license qualification (holder of a driving license):
Light Vehicles (holder of Motorcycles driving license) - No theoretical training required
PRACTICAL TRAINING
In all categories, practical training should only begin after the completion of the initial theoretical Road Safety Module and must respect the minimum number of training hours and kilometers traveled for each category until the exam.
Minimum number of required training hours / km:
Light Vehicles – 32 hours / 500 km
After completing half of the practical training hours, the driving student must attend a complementary Theoretical-practical Module with a duration of 5 hours.
In case of failure in the practical exam, the student will have to attend 25% more driving hours and kilometers and apply for a new exam.
